Anybody have a way of establishing the amp rating of a circuit breaker when the label is no longer legible?
I have a 1996 Beneteau Oceanis with the standard main panel. There's a photo below of the back of the panel to get an idea of the type of breakers I'm talking about.
Each breaker has a paper label stuck on the side of it. I'm able to read the labels on 10 of the 16 circuit breakers but the remaining 6 the labels have degraded so they are no longer legible. There's a photo below of a legible label (it's 5 amp) but the bad ones are just mush, top surface of the paper is gone completely. These breakers unfortunately don't have the rating embossed/stamped on the switch side as I've noticed some later models do.
Is there any other way to identify the rating of the individual circuit breakers. I can't see any part numbers, only patent numbers (which I presume would be the same regardless of rating) or is there a test to check the rating of each breaker?
I'm progressively improving the wiring in the boat and I'd like to ensure I'm not overloading any individual circuit.
Interesting that it's what should be the higher rated breakers (fridge, fresh water pumps, bilge pumps, heads etc) that have degraded the worst. Probably more heating up and cooling down from use over the years.
Any suggestions appreciated
Gerald

Hi Gerald
Try this, page 97.
www.manualslib.com/manual/839605/Beneteau-Boat.html?page=97#manual
Not sure if this is exactly your model's diagram, but it has a neat zoom over function and the breaker amp ratings can be read.

Cheers Gary, appreciate the response, bit different to my model infortunately. I've got a similar document out of the US which says it's for an Oceanis but it's different again (3 columns of breakers) so maybe mine isn't the original board. I'll keep hunting.
