What are the Hunter 376 like?
What sort of money are they fetching?
Anything to look out on them?
Not sure on this model, however some hunter boats run "cat" style rigs with swept spreaders and no backstay. Not a big fan for offshore work....
We have recently purchased a Hunter 356, similar to the 376. It has B & R rig with no back stay and sails quite well. You just need to keep in mind that down wind the main is a bit restricted by the swept back stays. Ours is a 2002 model, payed $79,000 and have had some upgrades done. New B & G electronics package and auto pilot, all new batteries and 400W of solar, new rigging with some new haches, rudder quadrant and other repairs, as expected on a 15 year old boat, about another $30,000. It is a good cruising/entertaining boat as far as design and space goes, large uncluttered cockpit (a benifit of the arch design with the mainsail traveller on top), excellent access from the water and to the cabin and good volume below. As we are not looking to race it the top end performance wasn't a consideration so all in all we are very happy.
Must be a fairly decent yacht , Sail by Sydney have had them in their fleet for years and only just upgrading them now to dufour , I think they were the agent for them a few years ago, the ones I noticed a few months ago at their wharf still looked good for their age.
