Hi All, I'm looking at heading up to Wondabyne (Mullet Creek Hawkesbury) next weekend. Looking for any local knowledge/ tips. We have a 1.3m draft and I'm told we should be fine but looking at charts I'm not so sure. Thanks

It's over 10 years since I've been up mullet creek, but used to go up often....shallow draft, motor boats.

all I can tell you is I've seen some big....a couple of very big power and sail boats up the north end moored in the pond near the station...it's a big deep hole.

how and when they got there I'm not sure, but would be feeling my way up on a rising tide, near the top of the tide.

a lot of people don't know but there is a small bay half way up on the eastern side with quite a few moorings and some derelict boats.

beautiful area, always caught a nice feed of fish up there

Good one Super!, don't you know the power of the internet, all those nice fish will be gone as well as those derelict boats!

As part of an Outward Bound adventure, six of us rowed a surfboat up there at night .
We had three mullets attracted by the light jump into the boat.
Enough fish for a hot breakfast.

I've always lusted after one of the old fishing shacks up there......not sure how it goes, I understand they can't be sold and can only be passed onto family??

occasionally one burns down and they can't be rebuilt.....something to do with squatters rights

some of them were built during the depression and if they've been occupied continuously for 20 years or something like that, they have rights

and by the by I didn't mention where I caught the fish lol ??
