Three Chinese warships , one of them an ampibious attack vessel, turned up uninvited, unannounced in Sydney Harbour today.

Have we been invaded by China a day before the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre?

This situation is utterly unusual, degrading, insulting and very disturbig.
Are we being hoodwinked by our government or was the whole country hoodwinked, government included?

What do you ex navy guys think about this situation?

Whaddahell'sgoingon?

Shanty1 has found a sponsor for his "Sailing around Australia solo non-stop unassisted sail"
Good on the Chinese for picking up the tab

Don't visiting vessels have to give 72 hours notice of their arrival?
The ships might get impounded!

I'm actually suprised that they where even noticed, what a @&cking beat up ! Foreign flagged vessels come and go all the time, even military ones.
Dumb arse Journalist could be examining the NSW anchoring regulations and exposing it for what it is.
We will have to see if the PRC vessels get moved on after 90days !

Scomo said last night that he new all about the Chinese ships coming, so, yes, it's the government keeping us in the dark.

ScoMo is currently in the Solomon Is. China desperately wants the Solomons to align themselves with the Chinese. Aust is a good resting spot from the Middle East before an easy hop into the South Pacific.

Who wants to place a bet that these Chinese ships are heading that way? The Australian Navy will be there in a month or two on a Winning Hearts and Minds tour. It is a political game thats been played forever.....

Foreign ships often come into Fremantle without public notice. Although you can usually tell when an American carrier group is about a week out as the girls start acting a bit funny.....
