Hi All
I am a recent member 1st post.
I think I have found my next boat a Fisher 32 it ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a boat to take me through retirement "comfort" My previous yacht was a Nantucket 33.
I am in Melbourne and wondering if there are any owners of a Fisher 32 in Melb who would allow me to have a look at there boat or if anyone knows someone with a Fisher 32 who can pass on any contacts or can pass on my mobile number through MM.
Anyone with first hand knowledge of the Fisher 32 your thoughts would be appreciated.

Safe Sailing

Are you looking at the one for sale in Townsville? It looks to be in good condition and would make a good single hander with only a few mods.

There is one out at Yaringa but I would not know if its for sale . a nice winter cruiser the fisher .
They were made in Oz originally in NSW the cost of fibre glass resin made it impossible to build them here so the moulds went to Taiwan . But they never started to build them.
There a tuff boat thick and strong hulls.

Hi I have one in Sydney, find it to be a very good compromise that sails fairly presentably and is great to be on board when moored. All lines lead to the cockpit making it a dream to single hand.
No it is not for sale
Cheers Bob.

Can you elaborate on the sailability of these vessels Uncle Bob? Do you generally motor-sail or can you sail under canvass only?

Hi Ashley, they sail reasonably well, can be a little tender at times though. I don't really like the sound of the diesel so prefer to sail as much as I can over motoring however I will motor if conditions are not conducive to reasonable sailing.
I have regularly had 5.5 - 6.5 knots according to gps from winds of 12 + knots.
This said there are times that I just cannot get her to perform but I reckon that is my skill level, not the boat
Others more skilled than I have expressed surprise when she does move along at a reasonable clip for a boat of that design.
All in all it does a reasonable job considering.
Cheers

That's interesting Uncle Bob. I'm quite taken with the design. It looks like a really stout go-anywhere vessel. I'll have to start saving my pennies, which is hard when you own a boat

Aren't Fishers designed for the North Sea ?. If so, they'ed be solid as a rock wouldn't they ?.
