Hello all, I have recently bought a yacht and need recommendations for a skilled handyman or tradesman who could build and install a small fibreglass gas bottle locker. We are currently in Pittwater but will be cruising north in a couple of weeks so recommendations for anyone along the east coast of Australia are welcome. We may have some other jobs so someone with general skills would be great.

Hi Budawang,
There a chap that works out of Manly and SE Qld, a gent by the name of Ben Pluck from Piranha Marine 0417898330.
Ben's a composites guru as well as glasswork, lovely guy and his work is impeccable. He has done all my stuff for the last two boats, would recommend him for any works.
You might want to call him and give him some notice though, he's normally pretty busy.
Good luck with it!

You can buy pre made gas lockers that you just cut the hole and screw them in. My boat has two of them. I am not sure of the brand and I am currently over seas, so I can't go and check the boat.

Thanks Shaggy and Jode for your replies. I will contact Ben Pluck. Nothing like a personal recommendation. I didn't realise there are pre-made gas lockers. Ours is a below decks fibreglass box with a hatch in the deck. It takes two 3.7 kg bottles.
