Hi all,
I was looking to get a barometer for inside the cabin, but I want one that can graph movement over time ( say 24 hours)
I watched a video once of an Imoca60 that had a small self contained barometer where the digital readout on the face showed as a strip chart style display that showed the barometric pressure as the vertical scale, and time as the horizontal scale.
To me all barometers need adjusting so that's not an issue per Se, it is more the change over time that is more important to me.
my problem is I can't find this style anywhere. Does anyone have any brilliant ideas on where I can source one ?
Thanks!
SB
Loose,
If you were here now I'd give you the biggest kiss. A barograph! That explains why I couldn't find anything that resembled it.
Thanks mate.
iPad Air 2, iPhone 6, Galaxy S5, Apple Watch, Gear S2 etc, or thereabouts onwards all have barometers. Plenty of Apps to track and record pressure.

Err ... thanks for the offer .. but I'm a lesbian, so if you don't mind I'll pass on the kiss.![]()

Thanks FR and you're correct, but I'm looking for something I can mount at the Nav station, tablets and phones are too "portable" for my application.

Shaggy, other than it's the old upside down photo, here is my digital barometer mounted in Nav station. It has a memory that can be recalled hourly for previous 4 hours and 4 hourly over past 24 hours. Less than $50 from an electrical/ watch place in Ulladulla. I used to have one from Dick Smith electronics but they were no longer when I needed to buy this one.
I like the accuracy of the digital barometer. I get my grib files with the isobars shown and can then use it to make a time/distance correction to the forecast. Also good to calibrate the ships barometer.
G'day Frant,
Yep, this is the other half of the reason I want one.
I've got a Predictwind account which gives you their four models, and It would be cool to try and gauge which one gets it right and if I can reference if the forecast is simply late or early .
cheers,
SB

How do you find it on an IPhone please?
Shaggy, the Mi-Sol weather station from Sailing Anarchy was the same as my Dick Smith unit. The bar chart 24 hr display is quite good to see rate of change at a glance.
I've got one of these Shaggy, works well and cheap enough.
My main interest is the barometric history & I have verified its accuracy against BOM stations.
Each segment of the bar graph columns represent 2 millibars (hectopascals)
