Can anyone give me advice on sailing east from darwin around cape york heading for Sydney this time of year. May 2020...

Ive been asked to help move a boat, but have never sailed any of the east coast of australia.

So far the forecast for the next 10 days looks horrid sailing south after Torres straight.

How do currents, tides and waves perform, between Torres straights and Cairns, when the Coral sea has a large swell and the predominant SE howls?

I left Darwin early May sailing to tweed Heads. It was extremely hard going. So hard, my 2 crew bailed in Gove. Only my stubbornness got me to cairns solo, where I decided it was best to get work and wait out the trade winds. You will be against the current and wind. Pm me if you want for my phone no if you want to

Absolute worst time of year to do it!
October is the best time.
