I have limited yachting experience but am quite comfortable in a dinghy or cat. Have owned power boats all my life.
Now I'm itching to try yacht ownership. I have seen some MB 24 (Perth built I think) that are affordable and already set up for short hand solo handling.
Any thoughts on this yacht as my intro?

Pretty much any Van de Stadt yacht would sail well. I had a Status 19 years ago and would have loved to step up to an MB24. They were a very expensive little boat then. Now they are reasonably priced but so are a lot of other yachts in that price range. Consider the Spacesailer 24 as well, they might have more headroom.

I raced on the flat deck racing version in the 80's both in the river and offshore. They came is three versions, flat deck racing, short cabin and a long cabin. I believe they also made a mark 3 in the long cabin version. Great little boat.
