First time poster, long time lurker here.

Any thoughts on the Columbia 34 mk II? Here's a current example for sale:

The freeboards look very high, meaning great space but what are the downsides to high freeboards?

If you fall overboard it is really hard to get back on board.

That applies to any boat that is moving away faster than you can swim

A lot of windage which will have some effect on sailing performance and can be problematic under power picking up a mooring on a windy day. But makes for a very large 34 footer and a lot of boat for the money. From the pictures seems to be fitted out with quality stuff.
