"
Evergreen' - 26' Peter Cole Quarter Tonner. No ReserveCurrently moored in Morrison Bay PUTNEY, NSW. Built in 1978 by Griffin boat builders for Peter Green, a respected Sydney sailing identity, Evergreen was the first IOR Quarter Tonner registered in Australia and was raced successfully including 2 Sydney-Brisbane races, finishing third both times. Bought in 1986 by my father (the third owner) Evergreen sailed regularly between the harbour, Lake Macquarie and Pittwater. She fell into disrepair when Dad fell ill and subsequently passed to me when he died. Despite best intentions, I don't have the time to bring her back to a going concern. Evergreen is built from Canadian yellow cedar triple planked with 'Dynel' sheathing to hull and decking. Her hull is still tight with no leaks, however is in need of slipping and antifouling.Sleeps 4 - forward V- birth and 2 quarter berths. Has a basic galley with two burner stove and 180L SS water tank, chart table and storage .Yanmar 8HP diesel engine is in need of total overhaul/ replacement. Standing and running rigging needs replacing. Sails (Main, 3 Jibs & spinnaker) are getting tired.Note: 1986 survey is not an indication of Evegreen's current state and is just included for additional information. Evergreen would dearly love someone to take her on as a project, restore and race her as she ddeserves"
That is one slick looking little yacht and by the sounds of it structure it would have to be a candidate for lydia and boty's next restoration project.![]()
Great little boat back in the day, props to Greenie for taking her north. She was then owned by Ian McConaghy from Kettering.
Deserves to be cleaned up.
