Seabreezers, I need to replace my 8mm short link chain for my 33 footer. The old chain is past regalvanising. I may even need to cut the last 5m off and take it out as a ball! (disgraceful)

Whitworths price pwb chain @ 23.95/m and I realise that's considered good aus made chain. Marine direct have 'quality chain' made by a Canadian company for less than half....ie half drum of the canadian stuff at 88m for $762 (pick up at Sydney warehouse). I could go halves with someone.

I wont touch the cheap Whitworths chain as I bought some for a tinny and the galvanising chipped off even if you just looked at it.

May I have your learned opinions?

Serafini Chains in Brisbane make fantastic chain.
Give them a call.
Postage could be a b#tch.

If it's the Canada Metal Pacific's "Titan" brand, then it's good quality stuff. I have their 8mm High Test and I'm happy with it.

I'm in the same position and about to change my 35mtr 8mm shortlink, I was looking at Chain Direct in Mascot, a couple hundred bucks cheaper for 100kg than Marine direct, but are all chains the same??
I did find another site with slightly better prices, but can't find link again.

i don't need the full 80mtr either, however was hoping to go to at least 50mtr... so unless your after 30 odd meters??

Sold a fair bit in my time and the PWB aus chain is fantastic quality.
See if Blackwoods, Bullivants or any lifting gear supplier can do better on price
