Hi.

I'm filling out the cat 7 for the first time.

In regards to the "Racing Rules of Sailing" & "Special Regulations Part 1" in electronic form.

What is acceptable for Electronic form? Does a PDF on a phone comply?

Where do you get the special regulations part 1 from??

Cheers

All respect this is a Sailing Australia (aka sailing arsehats) free zone.
They add nothing that cost you money.

Racing rules of sailing and special regs are acceptable on your phone, but it is up to the owner/ PIC to ensure that a copy is onboard so you comply with your racing responsibilities.

Correct.
You can also just download & print a pdf copy, put it in a zip lock waterproof sleeve ;-)

Having a copy (even just having the link available) on phone is plenty, has got me through two inspections.

Hi Cav, my comment from above is from the perspective of me being an auditor.
We accept a loaded PDF of both but just having a link to them would be pushing the friendship. I wouldn't let that pass.

Thanks Everyone.

I have the PDF on my phone.

I have found the "Special Regulations Part 1" and is i read it, it is only applicable to offshore racing. I am racing in Lake Mac. So I assume i will not need it??

Yeah, you still need to tick that box so just keep a copy on the phone...

If this is the 1st time you have ever had a safety done, it may help you to read the whole document. When you get to section 2.03, you will see everything you need to comply with according to the category you are applying for. On the right hand side are the numbers 1-7, whenever you see 7 you will need to comply with the item described.
If you plan on doing something like the Heaven Can Wait 24hr race you will need cat 5N, if my memory serves me right...
Note that some paragraphs are multihull specific.
