It is a great slipway right in the heart of town and has a long history.
The current owner and his wife want to hang up their spurs due to age and health issues.
It is riverfront freehold with underwater leases. Largish brick home and shed on adjoining freehold block which could be sold off. It has all the necessarys.
The lot can be had for $700,000. I would buy it myself were I 20 years younger.
If anybody is seriously interested I will put you in touch with the owner.
I am not on a commission or anything but I do want to see the facility continue to serve the boating community.
You should have a look at it boty.
looks great but i love my little creek
I like it too and would have my boat somewhere in it if I lived in Brisbane, but I love my beautiful Burnett River. ![]()
As much as owning a slip seems attractive i would imagine that in this age the workplace health and safety and environmental rules could be a bit of a mine field
Regards Don
Certainly WPH&S rules are something that everybody has to deal with be they facility provider, employer or employee.
Just another hurdle that everybody has to jump before you can start making a quid.
If China was subject to the same rules, we would fairly quickly defeat China in manufacturing.
So, in the case of Bundaberg Slipways or any other haul/lift out facility, as long as it is compliant EPA and equipment wise, the owner or operator has a comprehensive insurance coverage in place and users of the facility sign a legally binding "Use of Facility Agreement" with a specific indemnity clause, there is no reason why a paying user of the facility could not do their own work on their own vessel.
Next question??
