Hi All
Well today the sale of my Jarkan was complete. The new owner has picked up the boat to take back to his home port.
After writing the article on sea breeze asking for advice as to what you all thought she was worth , I was contacted by several people who were keen to look at the boat.
After a couple of tyre kickers, a really nice guy contacted me and inspected the yacht with his wife. He loved the boat.
Lucky for me he had a great little racing boat that we agreed to trade as part of the deal.
I have now been racing the new yacht Short Circuit for a few weeks, she is great fun and just what we were after. Fast and fun.
Thanks for all the forum readers comments which were fair and balanced.
Here is a picture of the new boat a real little handful of fun
Thanks David and Sue
Aloha
That is a happy story.
No broker in the deal holding his hand out for two commissions was there??
Must have been a twinge of regret getting rid of a Jarkan though.
Yes thanks Cisco
Refreshingly easy and uncomplicated by brokers.
The broker that was selling my boat was nice enough to walk away as he had nothing to add to the deal.
He had been fine through the sale process but just couldn't secure a buyer.
The deal was then relatively straight forward between two adults and we have both achieved a satisfactory out come.
The buyer got whole lot of extra gear with the boat that to be honest would have just sat under my house and he did an outstanding job getting the new boat trucked to Sydney.
I was a little sad to see the old girl go she looked great going down the harbour but hey i have a new girl to play with and that is fun.
Taking the extra on costs out of the deal does make it a whole lot easier to swallow in the end.
Thanks all
Hugo
