Hi guys!

TL:DR
Can anyone recommend a dry rack storage in or south of Port Macquarie? or can anyone offer any suggestions that might help?
I recently made a thread about how my boat wasn't running and I was getting a lot of expensive quotes. This is the next step from that thread.

Ive talked to an electrician and yet another mechanic and after a new starter motor, 2 new batteries and having a mechanic come and do all kinds of tests I'm still being quoted a lot of money to get it running $4000 parts $1500 labour not including slip or servicing the leg (it's a stern drive sport cruiser)

SO I'm unable to spend that amount. All I can do is try to find some place to store it undercover and out of the water for as low cost as possible and/or to try and sell it as is, not running...

I just can't afford this boat anymore. Does anyone know if I could even sell it while it's not running? I really need some cheap storage option anyway. The marina is way too expensive. And the boat is deteriorating way too fast in the water.

Did the motor turn over with a spanner????

I think you'd be better off selling it!!

Hi, it turned out it was not seized at all, it was the batteries responsible for it not turning over but now it turns over but does not start.

Well mate, if it turns over, any half decent mechanic should be able to get it going - for little cost!!

OR DIY

Fuel or spark??

Pull off a HT lead going to a spark plug, hold the end where it goes onto the spark plug & wind the motor over - if you feel a "tingle" or anything & the plugs are OK it must be fuel. I'd put a new set of spark plugs in anyway!!

If you have spark & it doesn't go try spraying some ether (Start Ya Bastard or similar) into the air intake while trying to start the motor - if it tries to start/run your problem is in the fuel side.

Maybe a compression test.
