That's sad to see, I skippered an older version of that boat last year, it was an extremely nice vessel lovely fit out & sailed beautifully. Last week another vessel went aground at lady Elliot. It's the distances involved & fatigue would be my guess.

I've anchored in there overnight to avoid a nasty looking front coming through. It can be a dangerous anchorage if the wind comes in from the north north east. If you don't have an anchor watch getting beached is a big risk.

If you go on Facebook you can see that Clayton's Towing have done an amazing job of removing the yacht from the beach and taking it to the yard for repairs.
