Does anyone know whether there was any difference in the quality of build over the years the Arends were built?

No, but I do like them very much. If they had been available in my price range when I bought MB they would have been top of my list.

Nope but I have one and it came with all the original order paperwork & magazine reviews at the time. I'll scan and post when I get some time.
Great boat for the East Coast and it's the perfect compromise size wise in my opinion any bigger and the costs get too high and you need more people to handle easily, they feel like a 40 footer inside compared to other boats of the same era. The only thing i'm not a huge fan of is having to step over the galley bench to access the cabin. While a minor problem to some I love the piece of mind of having no keel bolts, having had an older boat in the past with a bolt on keel it was always niggling concern in my mind with a potential catastrophic outcome.
The Arends 33 is for those who desire the room and comfort of a 40 footer yet can see that they can come without the expence of a 40 footer and still come in a package that sails really well.
Is that a succinct enough comment?? ![]()
