May be an option for my first cheap "unsinkable" yacht before upgrading at a later date. How much longer is the Red Eagle? Can't find any info about them. There's a yellow one for sale online for $1500 but hasn't been sailed for a long time by the looks of it...

The Red Witch was designed to fit under the Fremantle bridge without dropping the mast, hence they can carry their jib to 20-25 knots before reefing. A Red Eagle is a longer version of a Red Jacket, which is a bit different to the Red Witch smaller cabin and sail area. The Red Witch's use to be very popular with a fleet racing at South Perth Yacht Club. Bit more info on Wiki

Hi mate I have a red jacket I am in the middle of fixing up to sell. But if you wanted to put in the TLC instead we could negotiate on price. Just upgraded the trailer for it, mechanically everything works well. I had it in the ocean for 2 months and it didn't leak a drop.
In the last few years it's had a new keel fibreglassed in, the mast refurbished, marine carpet inside, etc

It needs a coat of paint on the top deck, the sails are okay but if you want to go out in a big blow I would look to upgrade. A weekends work.
Send me a PM if interested.

Yeah but think of the skills you've learned along the way and hundreds of hours of fun you had. You can't put a price on that.

There are some smart ways to launch, i really like using my hitch mounted hand winch. Its slower but you have 100% control and its geared so well anyone can do it.
