Hi All and Merry Christmas.
After stalking this forum for 6 months I thought I might as well sign up. Some cool info here and a lot of enthusiasm
If any one is keen to share , I'm looking for information on sailing into Kootingal got a draft of 900 minimum (on mini keels). Never had the guts to get any where near the amity banks but I have seen a larger cat cut accross to the rainbow channel Id really like to explore the gutter bar and area with my better half since we managed to loose the kids for a few days next week but not sure on getting in there and possibly getting stuck not knowing what conditions the area presents if a blow comes through possible bottom bashing massive currents etc. If any one has experience any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Alex.

If you mean Kooringal, just use the tidal range which is plenty but if not there are several ways in but they shift often so you have to use them regularly.
The best is from the top of the Rous from the top red.
Just keep a good lookout for submerged logs.
Cheers

Yes, sorry the typo.
Thank you Lydia , do you know what the currents in Rous channel are like and by the top red mark I assume you mean cut across black gutter below the long sand bank to the north?
