Hi, just stumbled upon cmap embark app for android.
It's FREE. and at first glance looks as good as my old navionics subscription... anyone else used it properly yet?
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.isea.Embark
Apparently it's a free trial, just give us your credit card details and don't you worry we will look after you
you can cancel anytime
. I don't think so.![]()
Ahh yes, the offline maps require a subscription of $60 per year. The bit i was fiddling with was free but rather usless if you lost internet
Subscription promises ais and weather but i presume you would still require Internet.
?delay with ais?
Very well said, UncleBob!
This looks like an introductory.
I don't think it is C-Map, it certainly doesn't look like C-Map, more likely a pirate enterprise and IT IS imo NEXT TO USELESS AND DANGEROUS FOR PROPER NAVIGATION !
Be warned, it is a shoddily compiled vector chart, rubbish as it is!
C-Map, which l used in my chart plotter for years, is a WGS84 based RNC, the electronic version of the AHC's paper charts, produced by a well respected chart company called Jeppesens.
This EMBARK thing is nothing like it.
The official RNC is available from Jeppesens (C-Map) or MemoryMap, the later for $50
US and it is for life.![]()
C-Map Embark charts are indeed C-Map charts but with a reduced level of clutter to make viewing on mobile devices easier.
