Good morning,
Yesterday I tried to put the anchor down to discover it had no 'down power' but power to retrieve (up) was ok. After investigation we discovered that the problem is a broken pin in the controller plug. Does anyone know if it can be fixed, where I can get a replacement without it costing me a limb or are they generic & can it be replaced with a different type? We had thought about hard wiring it, would that be so wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hi Denick
Can you unscrew the back of the plug to get access to the wiring attachment?
If so I think it is reasonably easy to repair.

A photo of the unsrewed back of plug would help?

Hi Gary, we have managed a macgyver repair for the moment, had to pull the plug apart (it broke the wire when we tried to unscrew it) so it is working for now. We will need a new plug.... Thanks for your comment.

I had issues with the wiring of my Quick controller. In the end I found it easier to just buy a new one. IIRC it was about $150.. That's not particularly cheap, but in my experience, generally if something breaks and unless you broke it accidentally, will forever be chasing your tail..

I think this might be what you're after, but you'll have to check model numbers...

Thanks Wander66 I just ordered one.

I have a switch at the helm, foot switches at the bow & a switch in the anchor locker but a remote won't go astray!!

No problems it does draw a little bit of power in standby so just make sure it's isolated when you leave the boat for a longer time, i.e. weeks
