Looking to meet up with experienced sailors to advise me on my quest to sail to Thailand from Morton Bay. I live in Sydney and would be happy to come to you. Thank you.
Your thread heading does not make sense.
Advise is a verb. The noun for it is advice.
I am not aware of a Morton Bay in Australia. Can you describe where it is exactly??
You are seeking experienced sailors to advise you on your quest to sail to Thailand.
What kind of advice are you seeking?????
Sounds like you are just another backpacker who did a google search "best sailing forum in Australia". I have to say you hit gold with that one.
It also sounds like you are looking for a free ride. They, like lunches do not come free.
Advice however on this web site, does come free and my free advice to you is to find a backpacker web site more suited to your wants.
Sorry I meant Moreton Bay off Brisbane
I'm buying a yacht in QLD and intend staying at Moreton Bay area to get the boat & ourselves ready to head up the coral sea early next year for a couple of years maybe head towards Phuket Island. I owned a 34' Roberts sailing from Sydney to Cairns for 6 months and so I'm familiar with cruising but reaching to others who have traveled overseas and can give me some good advice.
I'm not as comfortable using forums Id much rather face to face. if someone can point me in the right direction I'd much appreciate it.
Ok well sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion I can't be of much help because I've never sailed to Asia but good luck with it anyway
If you are comfortable with the sailing, but just not sure about that 'jump' into Indo and beyond, join a rally. There is the Sail to Indo and Ambon out of Darwin, and a newish rally out of Thursday Island. A lot of boats then sail further into Asia.
