Appreciate advice - have never renewed a stern gland / packing box / stuffing box on a shaft drive but need to with used diesel upgrade in PR25. 3/4" prop shaft diam, 1 3/4" OD grp stern tube, 1 3/4" ID x 3" long laminated rubber hose (10mm wall) from this stern tube fwd to the spud type gland. Double ss clamped each end. What adhesive / sealant is typically used? Maybe none? I would have thought that Sikaflex 291i would be ok but don't want to guess. Thanks in advance.
Great thanks. Yes another top bloke has PMed me with same advice plus other tips. For sure I wasn't going to use anything which would preclude removing it.
