Brianlara and Scaramouch,
2 very decent humans. Thank you for your comments on the Luxury thread. I wanted to comment but the thread appears to be closed.
How we treat other human beings no matter who they are defines the person we are.
May you be blessed for your kindness.
I have the feeling brianlarra was another stooge was only here a month and about 150 posts. Then losses it over someone having a difference of opinion.
It all started from my post that I would like this luxury as most stink boats have them! Perfect at the wheel as your coming into moor nothing worse than loud music when your trying to tell the cat to lock the bow line! Unfortantly it's cost me another $50 to get the extensions to get the wired unit to the helm. Another 7 day postage wait! What was I thinking it was coming with the wiring loom?
It exploded when someone brought up poverty in India. God knows why. What I don't understand in poverty stricken country's is how come they still manage to breed like rabbits? Dunno I would be thinking no not another mouth to feed we need to budget! Anyway that's another debate. I'm going sailing soon!

Pretty much how I read it too.. Instead of just slinking away he made a big fuss and demanded to be deleted from the site. He is just as self-righteous in other forums too. It is a shame because I thought he was contributing well to this forum.
Southaces first thread was going downhill fast. Maybe this one stays on track.
Southace, I think my new boat has a unit like that - I don't get the chance to play with it often, but my current tub certainly does, It is a great little bit of kit. As you say, it is easy to be able to adjust the station/sound or off completely without leaving the helm. It will be worth the current frustration.
Whilst global issues are undoubtedly important, it can be a bit off topic if we're discussing the merits of 2 different brands of sealants.
This is a pretty polite and friendly forum.
Brianlara is a Vietnam vet that's been through lot
I sort of know what it's like from mu mate who's since gone and the problems he wrote.t through
Even my son who did volunteer work in some isolated Island in the Philippines when he got back took him a while to readjust to Australia
Do you know him HG? I have to admit I thought he was fake. Demanding to be deleted ?
Just stop posting, surely?

No, I didn't just stop posting. Actually I emailled management and RHYS was dissapointed that I wanted out but he agreed to close my account, adding that I was welcome back at any time.
Naturally, I kept lurking because my earliest posts (re crossing Bass Strait) were met with much help and enthusiasm and it seemed like a great place to hang, especially as HG was so bloody decent, friendly and kind. But not only Hadyn I want to stress.
When McNaughtical posted generous words about Scaramouch and myself I saw that the origional reception help and attitudeI received hadn't, in fact, been destroyed by the mob.
So I emailled RHYS and he was happy to have me back and my a/c was restored a few days ago.
So I then emailed three different members ( all of whom replied with lengthy encouragment) thanking them for the support they had offered in my absence.
And today there was speculation re my bona fides and so I needed to make this post. Had I been a "stooge" or a "fake" then I think that it would have been evident to the many who origionally helped me
There will be a few who will think "oh ****, he's back !".
But I'll watch my p's & q's because the forum is too good a place for me or anyone else to be rocking the boat.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers.
Welcome back then BrianLara! Good to know you're legit, there's been a couple of not so recently.
I hope you get us much out of Seabreeze as the rest of us.
If I may ask, are you a Vietnam vet?

hi Brian, welcome back.
a friendly suggestion: it is not wise to post so much personal identification on a public forum. identity theft is really a big problem. i highly recommend you edit your post...

Phew, thanks FM. I didn't know about such things. Really grateful. Got to be some hope for me, I was able to delete the post.
Shaggy, I put truckloads of personal I.D. to prove my identity but FM had me get rid of it fast. Yes a Vietnam Vet. 9 Batallion.
Thanks again FM. Indebted to you too!!
Welcome back Brian, my theory was that you really were that famous retired cricketer and that because there was no hope for our cricket team you had turned your attentions to helping Aussie sailors. ![]()
Thanks Itchy Feet/Wander66. Ive spent about 16 years in India and with that mob being so cricket crazy as soon as they find out my lame is brian....instantly it's LARA. They love it so I'm happy. They ask if I've met Warnie, Ricky, Mark Waugh. They're nice people to Aussies. Not so much the Brits or Americos
Thanks for the warm welcome back Bro/Sis ?
McNaughtical, you started all this. You've got yourself a free mechanic/auto electrician for life. True.

Yes Ramona. Lot of mods, now a cutter rig, targa with 135w solar, mainsheet relocated to cabin top, lots of other improvements, 3 new sails & covers.
I can run but I can't hide huh? Do you have the Currawong near Adrian Penningtons ferro Hartley rorc 39 at the entry to Shaw Creek?
Really nice boat. Gotta love this forum. Always something to make you smile. Love where this all went after South's tongue in cheek. Anyway great to see it's turned out so well. Great to have you back. I'm new too to this barrel of monkeys. Some great advice and a pretty genuine bunch.
Josh. You don't know a whole lot about me but I never urinate in pockets, only tell the truth even when it hurts me and never ever mean harm to anyone unless they are being harsh against a leeser foe (or trying to harm or kill me).
So the following words are from the heart, no bs, genuine.
Every word you wrote in your post was special to me (can't tell you just how special) and I believe also that what you wrote makes the world a better place.
That same sentiment I have shared in emails in the last few days with others.
Such a bloody good place to be is this one.
Onya!
From my earliest posts re:Tassie, so many people have gone out of their way to help me in many ways : Showers, grub, kind advice.
McbloodyNaughtical laid the foundations for this bonding that we see happening. Turns out he is a she.
War neurosis often has me in bed but you lot are a priceless panacea.

Yes. Adrian's RORC 39 is for sale at the moment [back ground in photo], he has an aluminum Cole 42 now that is keeping him busy.
Adrians Hartley was alongside at Kiama when I met him. Bought it untried. We met and I agreed to come with him to GP. With a Faryman motot which barely ran at the time. We were lucky to reach his mooring. Of course the Faryman has been rebuilt since. Bowling Club's handy for him, can crawl home, no possibility of pca.
Haven't seen Adrian for 4 years, did he sail the Hartley much?
So glad this thing's plastic !!
I just saw his 'AD' . Says 2 cyl perkins. I think it's actually the Faryman that I worked on. But sometimes I'm wrong.
Quite a good boat for the money.

and I'm hankering after a bigger boat... thanks HG for the links you've sent. You know my thoughts exactly.
Anyone want to buy a farm??

There are BIGGER boats than a Tartan 37 ??? STREWTH !! How big is good G ?
When my fully facultied 93 year old Mum finally falls off the perch a Nauticat 33 is on this low fliers radar.Somewhere in the EU (which presently includes the UK) would be good. (where 240 volt ac systems prevail).
By many accounts they sail to windward reasonably.
Just depends on how badly the Horn of Africa has been affected by piracy when the time comes. IF...it comes! Mum's healthy. And no, trip wire is not an option.
Sorry 'bout drift.
Your mum 93 and still holding onto her Nauticat... That will be me!! Good for her. Does she still sail?
The boat I'm after isn't actually longer.. just more room below... better for living on forever.

He built a good Perkins from 2 motors. When he pulled them down they were both as new inside. He has sailed the Hartley a lot. Bought the new boat because he wanted a bigger boat to cart all his stuff about! I was on my boat on the next mooring when he first turned up from Kiama. I was a little alarmed to find that this was his first sail of any boat! He has turned out to be a real asset for the local yachties. Took a bit of flak from a local shipwright the other day when he thought he was doing too much work on the boats. He was just helping people out, that's just what he does.
