Think of Data buoys located right around Australia these send weather data to BOM and include sensitive sensors for any quakes from the sea floor and also tidal wave data.
They also transmit a AIS signal every buoy right around Australia and work like a fee way only a marine free way so a yacht or motor cruiser could steer to a buoy then continue to the next buoy using that AIS signal .
it would also have exit points just like a free way so some may lead to a safe anchorage others might lead to marina's along the east coats of Australia when there is bar to cross the buoy send you the latest data on tidal flow and depth and and wind at the bar.
The AIs transmitter would be fixed to the normal navigation light and pole coming to to any bay or place so if there was a sea mist the AIS signal would assist even more to find the correct entrance through the bar it could also use GPS at or near all buoys to double check the yachts location.
Eventually leading to a crew less yacht
Where a Hanse because of its self tacking Jib could be motored out of Hamilton Island after race week and sail it way back to Brisbane while the skipper has flow back and can monitor his or her yacht along its destination path.
The yacht autopilot would always know which side of the AIS buoy to be no just like a free way.
So all SOUTH ACE has to fit now is a self tacking jib and his boat could sail up the coast so he could keep working. And when he's sailing ity he can just relax and watch videos in the cabin

So the fishos would know not to fish on the marine free way and also reduce the risk of a large ship send his boat to the bottom as he didnt fit my air bags Ha Ha

That what happens when you a saw knee from an old work accident you rest it up and think of nonces

Plus you would have 4 G reception all the way around Australia

So South Ace could watch Adelaide Crows get a fogging this weekend
