so last night i told a mate about the ll mini I an makeing and now I am makeing 2 .
the problem is masts and sails we will use windsurfer bits but there is a lot off different stuff out there eg . free ride or wave and race sails .and lots off sizes. I am a heavy dood 100kg .can sum one give me a clue what to look for ? thanks heaps

I will keep my eye on the replies too as I have a selection of sails. Most seem to be too flat and shapeless using the sailboard boom, the battons are stiff as steel rods. I have two wave sails and two speed sails, so I am told. The latter two have cams, I am inclined to cut cams out when I re-shape the luffs?? Is that the right thing to do?
The blue glassfibre mast I used last weekend was as stiff as poorly cooked spagetti so I'll use it to tie up my tomato plants instead....wok
blue skinny fibreglass, screams original windsurfer, great for an internal stiffener,or kids mast as it will be very forgiving.
at 100kg perhaps look for a standard diameter(SDM) with an IMCS in the mid 20's at 4.6m , perhaps 10-30% carbon, but glass is fine. you'll need a 500mm base stiffener.
, for sails, maybe look at recutting something around 5.5-6.5m ,full monofilm is probably for the more experienced amateur, so sails with some softer material on the luff would be a good starting point
ok we getting there i have 4 masts and 1 6m sail mono film with full lenth battens .
I plan to use the the stifer mast and stuff it with the soft one .
but how do i recut the sail to the right shape ?
