Hi I have a heavy duty sewing machine that I bought to sew leather when i re-upholstered my car interior, however it is straight stitch only, can i just use a double row of stitches when i cut my sail or does it need zig zags

cheers tim

Two rows will do. Zig-zag is used because it makes a wider stitch and less likely to tear along the stitch line. When stitching make sure you use a big stitch
