I saw some of this stuff at Perth Airport a couple of days ago, looks like it has a woven core sandwiched between some type of plastic sheeting.

I didn't have time to "borrow" a bit for testing.

Anyone have any dealings with this stuff?

Not for strong winds as it acts like a sail and puts too much prssure loading on scaffolding

That's how I read it too,
The stuff is designed to survive 6 months tied to scaffolding - out in the weather, so it must be fairly strong.

Any scaffolding mobs in Kal?

I have just been given a roll Stephen. Karl was leaving town.
This stuff is abrasion resistant, for protection when sand blasting.

It is 3.6mtrs wide (folded back onto itself, to make a 2.4mtr wide roll.)and I'm not sure how many metres to a roll. Maybe 50.

It seems to be very tough. I cant tear it no matter how hard I try. It has an additional structural weave through the pattern at regular intervals.

I can "just" lift a new roll onto my shoulder to get it to my car.

Let me know if you want some.

Wow, I just found this forum randomly searching for batten tensioners. I am literally just building 16ft beach cat sails using 160g monarflex. If you go for it, do a radial design since the stuff has no diagonal support at all you see on laminates made for sails. I cut the fabric in slices and utilized 25mm of that white reinforcement band on each sail panel so that I could stitch the (hotmelt 2-sided carpet taped) seams through to be sure. Sail edges, corner reinforcements etc. are dacron of various weights. Edit: here's the stuff compared to early 2000's laminate from sailed to death 33ft. boat racing jib.

Just finished my main. Battens are fishing rods 3€/piece (yes I'm down over) with lathed plastic endcaps, pocket protectors laminated from 3mm thick plastic adboard and string tensioners. Reinforcements are way overkill since i wanted to give the tarp a real change to succeed. Thanks for this great forum, I found some really helpful info. Sailmaking is so freemasonry stuff..
