The lad got away with a pretty small hole, when he overturned and stepped through the sail.
The plank axles are worth their weight in gold, on that rough surface.

That old video is great. How cool would it be to have a land yachting school? Too bad I don't speak French. But it was worth watching, seemed like a documentary.
Those old land sailors were pretty sweet. I liked how they were all working together, learning and performing. I thought it was pretty good to see that one kid that tore his sail seek out that old sail maker and actually spend the time to learn something about it. You don't see a lot of that these days. Only in the older 50+ generation.
That wing in the seagull vid is pretty good too.
first vid., last couple of scenes made me think Mini-Stig got her tardis working and went back to teach the French how to sail
I could almost hear her telling the cameraman to drop his ruddy camera and give her a push at one stage.
