Hi,I am planning on going to Nepal in October -November to go trekking but while Im there I would like to go snowkiting,I have all my own gear except for a snowboard, there is not much information on the net,has anyone been snowkiting in Nepal?
If yes ,was it any good?
Is the wind strong enought to snowkite?
What size kites would I need?
Anyone with any information would be very helpful
Thanks Will

That's a pretty out there idea mate!

I've kited in technical mountain terrain in a fair few places around the world and have a list of more spots I'd like to explore with a kite and my backcountry gear as long as my arm but I have to say that Nepal is not one of them! About the closest I spot I have been eyeballing is far western Mongolia.

Don't let me stop you from trying though, (I haven't actually been to Nepal or anything). Maybe there is a nice plateau or broad ridge with forgiving snow and winds, low objective danger and helpful locals somewhere within a day's climb of the trekking routes?

I'd stick to the trekking, but that's just me, maybe I'm getting too old..
