hay all, I got this silly dream to snowkite around with the northern lights in norway.
so having never been in snow before for any real length of time. I have never snowboarded before. so im praying I get a job as a snowmaker this season in aus/nz. im a fit 27 yr old male whose goal driven and is happy if I never see another nightclub again hahaha, my recent working background is building large civil works prisons carparks hospitals that sort of thing. so I know I can do the 12hour shifts physically. I know the conditions will be nearly impossible at first but I am quite serious about norway, so itll be a breeze in comparison and exactly the lessons I need to learn in a supervised environment, so perfect. the pay doesnt bother me im here to learn about snow itself and to learn how to snowboard and kitesnowboard. I missed the canada season due to family in november. so im catching the end of the kiteing season in se asia to get better at kiteing. it seams like some of you have experience working at these aus/nz resorts. is there anyway to etter my chanc e of getting work as a snowmaker with no experience with snow?
allso I do a little wake skateing and kitesurfing and use to skateboard many years ago, I know skis are better for exedition snowkiteing but I really like the idea of a split snowboard. am I jut fooling myself there and should stick to skis? I dont care for the "yo bro street cred" of snowboarding but I cant see mysef enjoying skiing anywhere near as much as I would on a board.
thanks for reading

If you get to Norway head for the Hardangervidda plateau (Haugastol near Geilo) is the place. Snow kiting has been going off over there for years, ive skied there for over 20 years and its a great place. But in answer to your question - you cant beat experience when it comes to snow so try and learn all you can but dont expect much in the way of snowkiting in Oz - head for NZ
