To those kooks who do downwinders through scarborough and get in the way of the guys who can actually stay up wind how about you keep out of the way. At Brighton Rd and north Scarbs the tension is building. Localism works in the surf, lets bring it over to kiteboarding!!! If your not up for it go back to the river!!!!!!

You'll find alot of the guys who do downwinders are actually Scarborough locals.

Tension, building? What tension?

Ok, how about all the downwinder crew quit the downwinders and just kite at scarbs exclusively?

You haven't thought this through at all have you?

FAIL

Mr localism:
I can only guess that you dont do downwinders yourself because you don't have any friends to arrange a lift with.

The reason you dont have any friends IS BECAUSE YOU ARE A COMPLETE DOUCHE-BAG.

I have been kiting that route for a few years and have never had any tension come my way.

Keep your conspiracy theories to yourself.

Hey come on guys, there is no need for name calling on this site! Sure not all of us agree with this but he has a right to his opinion! Kiting is such a friendly sport so far and it would be great to keep it that way! both on the water and on this forum :)

i agree completely markonz, but theres the right way to go about it, and a complete douche way to go about it. the right way might have been something like "please guys could you consider that we tack out 1km so we can ride 30m downwind on a wave, when you and your mates have been lip smashing for the last 10km please be considerate to those lining up a decent wave at scabs" (albeit thats a bit limp wristed for seabreeze)

the douche bag way is highlighted in post one above, by a guy with an alias pic of mike tyson and name of LocalismNS, and 1 post FFS!

^^^^ well you are right in saying that ^^^^ Trying to rule localism is just plain stupid, I personally hate kiting the same spot over and over and mix it up a fair bit but its just a matter of respecting others where you go and making yourself go with the flow of the beach! Lets just hope that people like old Tyson here learn to share!

I agree especially the the 100m windsurfing section. This can be bl00dy dangerous especially when they take off shooting down wind on the inside and nearly take out half the sailors.
i did see 2 kiters collide yesterday that was highly entertaining especially as the were going in the same direction.

Localisms sucks in any watersport I've been windsurfing scarbs for 15years
yet more than happy to see other water users have fun, just a bit of common sense is need.
I dont hate swimmers but i do get annoyed when they swim where your sailing only because its me who kops the lawsuit if i hit them and leave with a serious injury
