The state wave titles are unlikely to go ahead this weekend, and so will move to either of 3/4 July or 10/11 July. At this stage the forecast is for light northerly winds all weekend. We make the final call tomorrow.
The state wave titles is an event for all wave riders and those interested in getting into wave riding. Our free ride competition format is designed to make the most of the winter conditions as well as encourage maximum participation. We have a number of divisions to cater for riders that are setting the standard for the country, through to newcomers and cruisers.
The success of the state wave titles relies on participation - as competitors, volunteers, and supporters. The weather can be extreme for a winter comp - so we are calling for your support on all these levels.
We are also looking for people to help as judges, beach marshals, with set up and clean up. We also need a commentator/DJ if you think you have what it takes! Please email WAKSA if you are interested in helping out.
So come on down to rip it up, or to just say hello if you are new to the sport, everyone is welcome.
