WA Kite Surfing Association will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 12th July 2011, at the City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club. The meeting will commence at 7.30pm.
City of Perth SLSC is located at Challenger Drive, City Beach (it's the surf club nearest to the groyne with the lookout tower.)
As with previous AGM's, office bearers will make their annual reports and new elections will be held for President, Treasurer, Secretary, and the general committee.
The AGM is open to all 725 financial members. With a number of committee members unable to continue into the next season, we are looking forward to new committee members with new ideas and new approaches to improving our events and representative work.
Any person(s) wishing to nominate for any of these positions should forward their signed nomination (seconded by another member) to waksa@waksa.org.au by close of business on 8th July 2011.
As required by the WAKSA Constitution, we are formally notifying members of two motions for consideration by members regarding the Australian Kite Surfing Association (AKSA):
1) It is proposed that: WAKSA members vote to accept (or reject) the proposed national new body structure, as outlined in the items: 110510-Restructuring Plan-AKSA-CPK and 110208-KBA Constitution – DRAFT and be bound by this national bodies proposed new constitution.
2) It is proposed that: WAKSA members vote to endorse (or not endorse) the change in name from 'Australian Kite Surfing Association (AKSA)' to 'Kite Boarding Australia Limited (KBA).'
Details of the proposed changes to the AKSA structure can be reviewed at www.waksa.org.au - under the 'Documents' tab - titled 'AKSA Restructure'.
To mis-quote John F Kennedy, “Ask not what WAKSA can do for you, but what you can do for WAKSA.”
We hope to see you on Tuesday 12th July.
PS: Pizzas on WAKSA (from 7pm) & the venue is licenced.
