Hi all,
I'm Marcus from Germany, currently in Cairns but thinking to take the long drive over to WA for a Kitetrip down the Coast.
I'm aiming to be in Exmouth by the 4th of October for the WAKSA 2009/10 season opener event (www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=waksa&e=com).
Then I want to travel down the Coast to Perth stopping at the Spots along the way. I have a Van and a free Seat if somebody wants to join, or if you're planning the same Trip we probably could drive together to check some Spots out. But I probably won't be alone at the usual Spots anyway at this Time of the Year will I?
I only have my 11m2 with me, is comfortable between 14-25kt, in Gusts up to 30. Should I try to get hold of something around 8? Mine is unfortnately back at home due to Luggage Restrictions :/
And do I need a wetsuit?
Cheers,
Marcus
Marcus,
your 11m should get you through, but it can get 25kts+ up north...
Some spots you might want to look at on the way south: Exmouth; Gnarloo (you will need a 4WD to get there); Shark Bay/Denham; Geraldton & Dongara; Cervantes for flat water & maybe also Lancelin.
How long will you be in Perth for?
Juddy
Hi Juddy,
thanks for the tips, how long I'll be in Perth depends when I get there and how long it takes me to get all my stuff sorted out. But at least I will have to leave just before X-mas. So I'd say it will turn out to be somewhat between 3 and 6 weeks.
Cheers,
Marcus
