Hi team,
Got some time off over the next few weeks and wondering what some good spots might be for day trips to likely catch some wind (min 15kts), I'm Perth-area so is heading South towards Safety Bay or more North towards Lancelin/Coronation Beach more odds?
Ideally would like to make it a day/arvo trip and drive back home and get some final sessions in.
Cheers,
V
unlikely a trip to Coronations will be a day/arvo trip, that's over 450km.
Really, at this time of year we're at the end of the season, so any wind on the west coast will not be really strong and likely only to last for a short while. I'd look more north and try and get a few days in up at Gnaraloo as a late-season strike mission, or you might get lucky around Geraldton/Coronation too.
Alternatively, there's a big south easterly pattern coming through down on the south coast this Friday and Saturday. If you like flatwater kiting head to Augusta!

...I just went for a (very random for me)..spin around Augusta felt sorry for the international all setup campers who put all there stuff up for about 35mins then sat around for a few hrs ...
I did mention U needed to get it early today before it died off but they've probably had a brilliant few weeks anyway
Buuut...yes they will be very happy on Friday and Saturday ! Hope they enjoy it
Quite difficult to plan ahead at this time of the year the forecast changes a lot. Unless there is an amazing forecast for many days in a row, it's probably not worth driving long distances to Coronation or Augusta for example. There will be some sea breezes in April around Perth, just few and far between. Sometimes you can get stronger winds in Lancelin compared to Perth and it could be worth the drive.
Thanks everyone, seems like its best to stick around Perth and wait for the odd day to come through.
Just having a look at Lancelin and seems next week Tues/Wed/Thurs is ideal for me, not quite time to pack the gear away yet!

Wed/Thurs next week are off-shore even in Lancelin according to the latest ECMWF forecast on Windy. Even Tuesday could become off-shore before sunset. Be careful
Denham in Shark Bay could be worth a look. SE is onshore there and the SB forecast looks good all week except Mon/Tue atm
Hi team,
Would Point Walter be ok for a beginner/intermediate tomorrow with forecasted Easterly winds?

Havent been there before and checked out Christian/KiteBuds location post (www.kitebud.com.au/locations/point-walter/) but just seeing if its typically too unpredictable/gusty right now or should be fine for a few hours in the arvo?
Cheers
Tomorrow will be blasting and pretty ugly I would expect. I wouldn't go out at your level.
If you insist on easterly madness, try Saturday morning on the back end of the front.

I agree with CH3MTR4IL5, today (Fri Apr 4) would be super gusty with rain and possible thunderstorms, not exactly what you would call beginner friendly. It's going to be challenging to find beginner friendly conditions from now on.
