Hi everyone,

I just arrived in Perth and I will stay until end of january. In my homeland, Colombia, I visited some kite surfing classes (8-10 hours) but the last couple of years I have been living in Germany so I was unable to continue.

Im just a beginner and I would like to start here again. Im planning to buy a second hand equipment. I am 1,76 high and I am 65 kgs weight...What's the best kite and board size to buy?
I would like to take some refresher classes. Which school would you recommend me?

Thank you!!!

At that time of year nov dec jan the season should be in full flow, most brands do a good beginner to intermediate kite, a catalyst/ switchblade/ siren/ neo/ rally around the 7mtr mark, these better known brands can be serviced easier than others due to local shops stocking them, aks in Perth have a very good reputation, or if travelling north exmouth kite centre, travelling our stunning coast you'll find the wind increases in strength the further north you go, the Midwest , Dongara ,geraldton , has great locations with a handful of kiters , any more info let us know, enjoy

I recommend Action sports WA if you're north of the river
http://actionsportswa.com.au/en/index.php/kite-home

they're a very professional outfit
gear is free to borrow during your lessons
and your instructor can tell you which kite and board to buy

if you're south, there's a few around safety bay

also, season starts in November
so you've got a bit of a wait for lessons

Hi Stephanie
Yep Cauncy is right about a 7m will be good choice as your day to day kite for 18 to 25 knots, maybe later down the track a 5m for Stronger winds.
School starts in mid October so not too much longer to wait.
On the plus side the water will be a bit warmer then too.
There are heaps of suitable kites in second hand or new, we have some good deals at the moment.
Feel free to give us a call
