Ok - you guys and girls - now time to enter the Biggy… the NATIONAL KITEBOARDING LEAGUE (NKL)

It is a NATIONAL SERIES open to all Intermediate to Advance riders - hanging out and riding together each day.
It is a different format - you do not get knocked out early on - we want you to kite every day there is wind, maybe even twice a day until you equal or beat your Personal Best!

The TOP 3 male and female riders get to go to the GRAND FINAL on the Gold Coast end of Feb 2016.
All riders are listed on the National Tally board of the NKL website, so you will have to defend your position next year and so forth....work your way up!

We have completed 3 Stops of the NKL - QLD - NZ and ADELAIDE - and have all the entrants now listed on the website.
Even if you are a one trick wonder or only 12 years old - we really suggest - and hope you enter.
These 2 categories have been filled at each of the stops so far and are really important to us and our kiteboarding sponsors.

The Program also has a "HAVE-A-GO" feature at 11am every Friday/Saturday and Sunday which is proving to be highly successful.
Basically everyone can show and HAVE - A - GO at kiteboarding on our Trainer Kites - and be instructed by our Judges.
Ages 10 and up are invited to HAVE-A-GO for FREE - so bring ya family and friends along!

Each day we also have an Intermission featuring a CABRINHA FX BIG AIR Showcase – everyone entered can go out in groups and do BIG AIR for the Media and cameras. The one that goes the Highest and Looks good wins. This applies to Twin Tip Freestyle and to the Wave entrants (Strapless or strapped best crazy maneuver with air on a wave) Fantastic Trophy's for this category!

Glen Bowden is in attendance as our official Videographer and camera man so we will capture riders, do Interviews and really gets behind this Inaugural event. The NKL is locked in for 3 years!

So COME ON WA - register now for the 4 days for $90 - get a T Shirt early and be a part of the NKL SERIES.COM
Staged over a 4 day period - we will feed ya and look after ya - with hi tech SMS's and drinks / snacks - party - lots of Awards and medals and trophys. As well as help pay for our Hi Calibre JUDGES to attend - Alex Lewis Hughes (Rowdy) Karolina Winkowska, Josh Edington-lalande, and so forth.

The NKL is also a very important vehicle to help get Kiteboarding recognised as an official Aust. Sports Commission sport at the end of the 3 years. Who would like a National Government Grant to make the NKL and all events even bigger?

www.nklseries.com/register

All the details will show as you register.
From here we do Rider Profiles and start a email and SMS database. If we do not know who you are - we cannot communicate!

Thanks to CLASSIC HOLIDAYS our naming Rights Sponsor and these Industry sponsors:
CABRINHA - AXIS - BWSURF - MYSTIC - OZONE - F-ONE - NORTH KITEBOARDING
and your local Shops WA SURF and KITE ADDICTION
as well as

Far out, it's about the crappiest week forecast for this event since I went on an early season kite trip to Exmouth!

I'm sure it will be fun anyway, but I reckon I have a reasonable chance of getting an equal first in my first kite comp haha

My take having travelled from Gero for the whole 4 days is that it was well organised, well funded, they made the most of the ordinary conditions.

I think the structure is great too with state rounds rolling into a national final. It wasn't very well attended but they have funding for 3 years so hopefully it will attract more competitors over time.

Pleased to say I was #1 in the over 45's haha. But beat nobody :)

Wind on the Thursday to 17 knots and on Saturday went to 21 knots NW at 2.30pm for 2 hours - mad scramble but did all heats and the Cabrinha Big Air.
We got results... Well done PERTH!

Met some great people watched some great kiting for the conditions, and best of all witnessed my kids having a ball, I recommend this event.

Lets make it bigger and better next year.

Cheers to the organisers and participants for a memorable weekend.
