Is it a good idea to register with WAKSA.
Use to kitting with only a couple of people or none at all I think I may have issues with the population density and highly likely I may upset some one, 
Any tips/info appreciated for Perth area. I believe Cottesloe would be the closest for me.

Please join WAKSA - yes, lots of people on beaches, lots of kiters to contend with, lots of trees, powerlines and cars to get a kite tangled with if you kite the river.
Requirement under Cottesloe local council regulations that if you kite at Cottesloe you MUST be a WAKSA member.

$1000 fine and confiscation of kite if you kite through the red / yellow flags on any Perth beach.

If you're staying in a mounts bay rd apt. Just as quick to go kiting Scarbs/trigg as going to Cott. So anywhere along that stretch between leighton to trigg is an option really. If you want a quick tt sesh, you can go to pelican point on the river. Which would be your closest kite spot.

Just watch one session at pelican point before you kite there,
there's a retaining wall you have to launch over and a tree you'll hit if you're not standing far enough in the water, so it's assisted launching only.

Thanks I was wondering about that....
Some one at work said they didnt go there, hes a pole because you have to pay for parking.
Do you know the parking situation, I have a little car I will be using whilst in perth
I think parking is free at peli after like 4pm but that could have changed...otherwise you can try and find a park in the dirt patch across the road from the sailing club and walk over (wouldnt be practical if you were a poley ha).
Pelican point is for intermediate riders and above only. Waksa site also says this for other newbies to the area.
