Hi all got back for my first session in a week to discover someone has taken the leash that I spliced on Boxing Day
A couple of the lads thought it may have been the rangers or council because they have been raking the beach and generally cleaning up
Does anyone have any contacts in these dept to ask why it has been cut off I put it there for everyone to use and it helps with safety for landing your kite

Maybe just a fuzzy pic bit looks like you need some splicing lessons there

So as a new kiter is on the beach on his own you expect him/her to hold the kite in one hand undo the leash from the kite then take it off the back or front of there harness , loop it around a fence then to the kite,,,,,
your on drugs ,,,, or maybe you can show us all how to do it ,,,,

This vid isn't bad, just remember once you have the splice started it's simply over under over under without skipping any strands. Any one strand (of the main rope section) should only ever have one strand of the splicing strand underneath it.
Beware if the "cheater" splice, although it's rare they can slip.

A correctly tied bowline will always hold if the rope is dry (ie. not submerged) too.
