Im hoping someone might be able to explain what we can expect in west oz with this seasons weather influence. The East coast has been told to expect above average cyclones and rain, what can we expect in relation to our summer? Thanks in advance

La nina is awesome on the lower half, west coast. Drier and warmer typically with high pressure systems dominating - which translates to a windier summer season.

Should be a good one!

Yep, pretty simple - in "theory".

Last summer in El Nino we saw loads of troughs sneak down to lower half which saw lots of humid, less windy days.

In theory with La Nina there should be less troughs in the lower half. The troughs are blocked or moved on quicky by the strong high pressure systems that will park themselves just where we want them.

I reckon it will be a good one. In theory

The ants at our place have been doing somersaults and generally behaving exuberantly. Hopefully its a good sign.

Hi Peeps,

Last La nina year was 2008 and it was a howler. Loads of very strong winds. We closed the school on many occassions as the winds were up around and over 30 knots. From Memory, November 2008 was one of the windiest months with wind most days in the high twenties.

Last two years have been el nino which was lower strengths. I think we only cancelled a handful of lessons last year but had many more windy days in the sub 15knot range.

I'm going to be ordering a heap of 7's and 6's this season in preparation!

BRING IT ON!

I tend to notice when the ants start marching and pay attention to it at our place too (really).

The last time I noticed them relocating shop was a week or two before THAT storm in March.

Bloody amazing that they know something is up weeks in advance.

So wonder what's coming soon then?

Hope they are all amping about all the green arrows this week.
