Have been wearing a helmet for the past season .. love it .. great for safety and keeps the sun off my balding head and looks good to boot 
only prob is that people think that I must me a really "go for it " kiter but in realty Im mainly mowing the lawn with a few pops chucked in... must be very disappointing for the spectators ..
I have only ever been hit in the head once, by my board in small surf.
Once is all it takes, wear it, i mow lawn alot, but not my neighbors.

no . after 5 minutes wearing it the first time i never noticed it again .
one wack from a raceboard was all it took me to wear one .

I wore one when I had lessons and found it very uncomfortable, try one and see what you think.
