I know this has been brought up before but it was a fair while ago. Does anyone on here live, kiteboard, around dampier/karratha? I am living up in karratha at the moment and am super keen to get into kiteboarding. I have surfed for a long time but I am finding it hard living up here and only having a small amount of surf to live with. I have heard that kiting up here can be good and im looking at getting kitted up in the next couple of weeks. Any fellow K-Town folk out there feel like pointing me in the right direction and maybe helping me learn to fly the kite??

Cheers

Matt

other times there is no wind or the wind blowing from the land(not recommended)
Hope can help you

There's a small crew here, we go to Cossack, been out last 3 weekends. Hersons is good too but, coz it's close too town can get packed. Karratha is not perfect but means you can get some practice in ready for perth or else where. email: kiwidave90@hotmail.com if interested

If you can kite in Dampier harbor, just up the coast a bit near the other ovals there are some great flat water spots near Sams island and the other little rock out crops.

Hey - lived up there for 10 or so years some time back..... Wind doesn't usually start blowing till around August, then howls through September - November. Then as the wind dies down the weather warms up!
As long as there's water (big tides) The Palms in Dampier is an ideal spot to go. Launching off the sand by the marina running accross the back off the boats in the harbour there. Take your booties if you want to launch elsewhere.
