If your chasing waves there is some great places.go to the west of town and there is a wAve spot on the west beach .a good downwinder location to the east of town.Flat water locations around. Its a cracker of a spot..Just remeber there some pretty big rips and currents down there.

Hopetoun rocks if wind plays, Bays and spots east west plenty amazing spots.
The left hander off the end of the jetty, yes the one across the deep sharky bit is good
Heed caution down there as you will most likely be the only one.

Im a semi local.
Best flat water is west side of the groyne in an easterly (prevailing wind).
For waves, either crazys (offshore side of the reef from the point you can see from the jetty) or if you have a 4wd then go to hamersley beach up to the far eastern side near the rocks. Very remote at hamersley though. Smaller waves at an easier spot is the west side of the two-mile, only when the swell is decent.
