Hey guys,

So I was considering bringing both my ten and twelve meter over from Melbourne, but I'm looking at the forecast for the next few days and am wondering if I need to? Im happy being lit on the ten as long as there's space for me to jump about like a bit of an idiot out of everyone's way, but obviously to a point. At the moment I'm probably good to about...27knts? I know what my limit feels like standing on the beach but it would be great to get an idea before I go.

Hoping to find some flat water spots, especially ones in between kickers!

I've actually never kited on anything smaller than a ten so I'd love to know what that's like if it's possible/cost effective renting from somewhere?

Cheers!

the wind has been great lately, a ten will definitely get you lit on most arvos down on the coast. I'm not much into flatwater myself, and it will depend a bit on where you are staying as to the best spots to recommend, so I'm not sure there. To be honest, there's not much swell around either and there's plenty of folks who get out into the ocean with flat water rigs. If you like the ocean perhaps Pinaroo Point (north of Perth) or south Cottesloe/Leighton, or if you like the river, Melville Beach Rd (in the city - south). One of the prime flat water spots is Safety Bay around 30-40 minute drive south of the city.

How much do you weigh?I'm riding a 10m most days at 83kg. It has to be honking for me to get out on the 8m, on those days you just go to the beach earlier to ride the 10 or your 12. The 12 might get you out earlier sometimes or low-wind days. Hard to say.
