I have seen several near misses between kiteboarder and other water users over the last two days. In particular in the area just North of the groyne.Remember the Launch & kite zone is restricted to the area from Rosendo to Princess Street. In particular the area South of the playground towards the groyne and dog beach are prohibited zones.
Many people probably don't remember but kiteboarding nearly got banned here in 2016. It was only with the help of WAKSA that an agreement with the council was reached to allow kiteboarding but limiting it to the above mentioned area.
In addition, kiteboarders are also supposed to have a KWA or KA membership and wear a tag on their harness. Don't know why the membership rule but I assume it's because of public liability insurance incase of injuring to other water users.
