Thought others would be interested to see the sign up at the Bent street boat ramp. Channel looks like it's going to end up in a decent location, going straight off the end of the spit. No mention of channel markers though.

I still can't believe they got environmental approve to dredge though the sea grass beds. Can't wait for more pissed up bogans with boats cutting right through the middle of kiters at the mouth of the pond.

I would love to know how much this is costing. I don't understand how any channel that small cut in the ocean will remain more than a few months (or one decent storm). Why wouldn't you follow the naturally deepest channel that exists already (basically straight out)? Are we going to pay for this every year? Are the windsurfers who insist on doing speed runs straight through dozens of people through that exact area going to have right of way over boats using the channel 
?
Looks like a waste of money though I'm sure the boaties will appreciate the effort....
180k they say. To comnat "silting" of current channel. Where the boats run out of water is SAND, not silt. Where they are cutting a path through the weed bank is a totally fresh path??
