Heading up to Dongara for the Australia Day long weekend, any advice on kiting? I have been before (kitestock last year) but wondering if there are any "better" spots than South Beach? Taking the wife and grom with me so hoping the wife can get some time out on the kite too, she's just not confident is swell (hope to change this!).
Feel free to PM me if you'd prefer spots kept out of the main forum.

Drive 10 klms south and follow her downwind to the slsc,, great practice staying inside the breakers, do this a few times and she will soon get to grips , do it half a dozen times and she will be cracking the tops off the little waves also 7 mile is a big bay with flat to slight chop, depending on wind strength, granny's beach looks the spot, but really unstable wind due to headland / buildings
Doesn't get busy enough here to have secret spots,
ask or flick me a message if needed, enjoy
Are there any 4wd beaches or places you can camp on the beach up your way Cauncy?
Is it regularly 30+ or just reliable 25kn most days?

Check the forcast,
you can get 20 klms south along south beach, couple of shacks to camp at, good fishing, then same heading north from northshore estate, again good fishing, also heaps of spots south around knobby head , fresh water, cliff head, make sure you keep them clean
hey loopers/Cauncy - will be there for the long WE. PM if keen for a downwinder.
I think a few mullaz crew come up around then, maybe come up with a plan and we do a run to 7 mile and have one of these little rascals
Not sure I'll have huge amounts of free time to do a downwinder as the mrs is keen to kite too, with a 3 month in tow it makes life a little more difficult. Thanks for al lthe advise, looking forward to the weekend!
Small kite? It's only forecast for around 25 knots up here, I'll stay on the big kite (9m) and save the little Edges for when it's actually windy ![]()
