According to the new by-law, one now needs a permit to kitesurf in the City of Melville.

These have been passed I believe.

Melville council has no water to Kitesurf on. And for the simpletons the Swan Estuary is not part of Melville council.

According to Gazette Documents 28th March 2011, No 49, that text box isnt in it.

yeehar is spot on, unless we intend on kiting in the gutter nobody needs a permit!
and dusta is spot on too, aksa membership should be more than sufficient.

http://www.swanrivertrust.wa.gov.au/trust/legislation/Documents/map_river_reserve_riverpark_dca.pdf

thats the boundary of the Swan River Trust Development Control Zone that runs all around the river.. To my understanding (and im not a town planner) local governments do not have any juristiction along the rivers as they are managed by the SWT.

That would go as far as to include the grassed area along melville beach. The shire may fine ppl for parking along that stretch if they wanted but it would be a silly decision as it limits the amenity of the river foreshore..

hope they dont do it.. however there are some influential ppl that live along melville beach, Id go as far as say - possibly a councilor or two..
